About me
In an era where businesses are increasingly serviced by advisors with vast specialist knowledge but, all too often, little grasp of the entirety of the business and shareholder challenge I aim to provide value and solutions for your business' critical challenges be they growth, (through innovative offering or M&A), disputes or strategy (inc maximizing sale value).
A unique combination of business, finance and legal experience from decades of Directorships and Advisory experience is at your disposal. Experience gained with top tier professional services companies such as Andersen and CEO and C Suite/Main Board Director roles with companies operating globally in the most demanding of markets.
Passionate about ensuring the delivery of significant value in all roles, whether as Executive Director, NED or Advisor, I continue to add to my knowledge having recently completed INSEAD AI course on Digital Twin Software, invested in and led the global expansion of a diverting trade FMCG company and working with PE houses on their investors thesis for buy and build strategies.
From my early legal career as a corporate lawyer at a top US law firm Wilmer Hale in Brussels advising multinationals, at Scottish Law firms inc Maclays advising on MBO's, public co acquisitions i chose to expand my knowledge by moving into corporate finance working on listings, contested takeovers, advising entrepreneurs and family cos on sales with Andersen and Greig Middleton before putting this knowledge to practical effect in numerous private companies including the world's fastest growing private facilities management company as part of a core team of directors building a global business t/o in excess of $2n
Key successful experience which would be brought to bear on your behalf includes my 5 yrs as CEO of City Facilities Management in US. This role concentrated on the refinement of our operational model to drive value from customer focused data analytics but also encompassed running a 2000 employee business across 24 states, through COVID, a business critical cyberattack (and its aftermath) and personally negotiating numerous major contracts. During my tenure revenue surged from $350 million to $800 million with no margin decrease and ultimately i led the sale of the majority of the US business to Walmart Inc for a sum 10x their initial offer.
As you'd expect as a Director with my professional foundation iI have negotiated all business critical litigation and dispute resolution, worked alongside Investment Banks on innovative joint venture structures, negotiated with Sovereign Wealth Funds, Family office and major real estate firms. Additionally as an adviser in the support services sector I have acted directly for numerous Entrepreneurs and UK listed companies
With this frontline experience and access to the best of financial and operational management and a professional and financial network second to none I am looking for engagement with those businesses undergoing critical challenges in the creation or sustenance of their equity value.
Whether the engagement takes the form of an Executive, Non-Executive or a specific Advisory role all will be considered. As always the potential on both sides to form a truly fruitful relationship will be the deciding factor.
